So that's my course over and done with. Most of the trainees have came up to me at the end of each day to say they really enjoyed it so I'm dead chuffed. I guess it's been an interesting diversion for them during reading week!

One of the lecturers who attended the course is keen to speak to me about using some of the material for one of his modules and I'll be going back in some day next week to discuss how things went, and explore what further opportunities there are with this.

Went out tonight to see Emilie Autumn. Wasn't sure quite what to expect there, but it turned out to be a really fun show.

Selling hedgehogs online

I'm worried about my hearing.

At Ascension last weekend during a conversation I heard 'polka dots on the dance floor' whereas what was really said was more along the lines of 'look there are people dancing in formation'. Quite a sight that was too (the timewarp maybe?). I reckon I misheard because of the high volume of the music, even though 'polka dots' and 'formation dancing' just doesn't sound alike at all.

Now today, on a coffee break in the relatively quieter Napier Uni apex cafe, I was introduced to someone who sells hedgehogs online. Turns out it was selling textbooks online.

I think its time for a hearing test...

Apart from the hedgehog/textbook confusion, the second round of training went really well again today, with six members of staff attending. One staff member is involved in some really interesting work with electronics in craft/jewellery/clothing and there might be some opportunities there which I'm keen to follow up.

So, I've joined livejournal. [info]adq has been recommending LJ over facebook, and there are friends on here that aren't on facebook, so here I am. Not sure I'll be writing in it that often, or what I'll be writing (probably work/computer/music/film related stuff), but let's see how things go. V happy that this user name was available :)

As for the title of this post - I've been invited to Napier Uni this week to train lecturers and research staff in 'eCommerce website implementation'. Woo. The course is based on my web development experience over the last 10 years, so it's been interesting to rummage through it all and pull it together into something resembling a training course.

I've got a small group of 3 to 4 trainees each day today, tomorrow, and thursday. There's a lot in the course, in fact too much to fit everything in in a single day. Better than having too little, and in theory it allows me to adapt the course each day according to the trainees interests. In practice, however...
... it actually worked out really well today!

I'm looking forward to doing it all again tomorrow.

Apparently I'm an alterpreneur.
